Price Stability Ensures Social Peace
Ludwig Erhard was already aware that the subject of price stability contained a social component that could not be underestimated. In his 1957 book "Prosperity for All," he wrote, "The social market economy is unimaginable without a consistent policy of price stability.
Only this policy can guarantee that one group in the population does not enrich itself at the expense of others. Stable prices are the basis of social satisfaction, the basis for organic savings activity, and the basis of political order."
